CPO 1 is your community engagement connection! 

Find out what is happening in your community and how you can get involved and make a difference. CPO 1 is your local Community Participation Organization (CPO) that follows local issues, projects and planning. Led by community volunteers, CPO 1 is open to involvement from all members of the communities of Bonny Slope West, Cedar Hills and Cedar Mill.

Meet your neighbors, voice concerns, participate in lively discussions, share your ideas, and learn about opportunities to become engaged in the decision making processes that affect you and your community. Final SNRs Assessment Report - May 2020

SNRs Assessment/
LCDC Enforcement Order

Presented by Theresa Cherniak, Principal Planner, Washington County Land Use & Transportation

Washington County has been working on a document assessing the application of Significant Natural Resources (SNRs) regulations to new development in the urban areas of the County. A draft report was issued last October and finalized in May. In late May, the Land Conservation and Development Commission (LCDC) voted to place an Enforcement Order on the County regarding its natural resources regulations. Several county land use ordinances are being developed as a result of the effort and in response to the LCDC Enforcement Order. Theresa will provide an update on the current status of the SNRs Assessment, the Enforcement Order, and next steps.

Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, in-person CPO and CCI events have been canceled. This is a precautionary measure being taken to ensure the health and safety of our CPO members.

County Board Meetings | Board meetings are now live streamed through YouTube. Provide live testimony by reservation via Zoom. See schedule

LUT Open Houses | The County's Department of Land Use & Transportation is not holding in-person community events at this time. A number of online open houses have been set up for the month of May. See calendar

TVF&R Updates | Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue is providing online updates instead of attending CPO meetings at this time.

Neighborhood Meetings | Developers are also not holidng in-person neighborhood meetings at this time. Some are opting to hold virtual meetings. See calendar

Marcus Ford 

Marcus has worked to connect people from all different walks of life together in both his personal and professional life. He has been with the County for more than ten years. In his previous role as a Probation and Parole Officer, he worked with several unique populations including individuals/families of individuals transitioning from prison and children/families involved in the criminal justice system. Marcus is a skilled trainer and public speaker who has created, taught, and directed trainings on a variety of topics. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at Willamette University. Marcus will be working with CPOs 1, 3, 6 and 7.

CPOs are made up of neighbors working with neighbors to stay informed about local issues, to share ideas and concerns, and to participate in decision making processes whenever possible, with one goal in mind: to help improve the livability of the communities they serve.
