For Immediate Release: Tuesday, March 10, 2015
Washington County and the City of Hillsboro invite the public to attend a combined project open house on March 25, 2015 for the Jackson School Road capital improvement project and the Glencoe Road interim safety improvement project. The event will be held at the Washington County Public Services Building, 155 N. First Avenue (first floor cafeteria). The public is invited to drop in anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to learn more about both projects. Project staff from the County and City will be available to answer questions and solicit comments. No formal presentation is planned.
The Jackson School Road project proposes to improve the roadway between Grant and Evergreen to include one travel lane in each direction with a center turn lane, along with the installation of continuous bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The project will also improve the creek/drainage crossing between Rogahn and Evergreen. Funding for this project is provided through the County's Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP).
The Glencoe Road project proposes to make interim pedestrian and bicycle improvements to the roadway between Grant and Tiffany. Spot upgrades will be made to the existing sidewalk between Lincoln and Grant. Funding for this project is provided through the Gain Share program.
