U.S. 26 Widening Project (Cornelius Pass to 185th)
This project is a collaboration between Oregon Department of Transportation, the city of Hillsboro and Washington County. For more information, visit the ODOT project page.
U.S. 26, between Cornelius Pass Road and 185th Avenue, has reached its vehicle capacity and congestion is heavy. As population and employment in Washington County increases, traffic demands on U.S. 26 will also increase.
This project will increase capacity, improve traffic safety and relieve congestion by widening U.S. 26 from two lanes to three lanes in each direction between Cornelius Pass Road to 185th Avenue. Widening will occur along the highway median and on the shoulders of U.S. 26.
This project will also include:
- Replacing the two existing Rock Creek bridges with one bridge
- Improving the north side of the U.S. 26/Cornelius Pass interchange
- Adding a second lane to the westbound offramp at Cornelius Pass
- Extended noise wall on the north side of U.S. 26
