Your Sheriff's Office Community Outreach Resources and Education Team is comprised of civilian Community Outreach Specialists.

While deputies respond to calls for service or react to crimes that happen in their presence, this team works with citizens, businesses, and allied agencies throughout Washington County to prevent crimes before they occur. This is accomplished in large degree through education and community policing strategies.

The Community Outreach Resources and Education Team gives numerous educational presentations to community and civic groups in English or Spanish. Popular topics include:

Other topics are available as needed, and new programs are developed as needed to address new crime trends.

The Community Outreach Resources and Education Team also has featured articles in Sheriff's Office News, a free monthly e-newsletter available via subscription
