Rent & Utility Assistance
Community Action's Rent and Utility Assistance Program will not be accepting new applications for assistance between December 19th (Saturday) through January 3, 2021 (Sunday). The emergency rent line (503-615-0770) and the utility assistance line (503-615-0771) will reopen on Monday, January 4, 2021.
The reason for this closure is that Community Action will need the time between the 19th and the 30th to complete and approve all applications in process. There are only six business days to complete that work. This schedule is needed to meet compliance requirements of the federal CARES Act (Coronavirus Relief Fund).
Washington County received funding under the CARES Act – Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) to provide public health, safety and community stabilization resources. A portion of those funds are targeted to housing stability assistance for people impacted by COVID-19.
Washington County has contracted with Community Action to manage the funds and get them out to the local community. There are three types of assistance available:
- Rent Assistance
- Water/Stormwater/Sewer Assistance
- Garbage and Recycling Assistance
Phone Number: 503-615-0770
